As you get to know God better and read the Bible, it won’t take you very long to discover God’s love for all people throughout the world.

One of Summit’s three core values is to reach out to the world around with the love of God. This has a variety of expressions and takes place around the corner and around the globe.

We have an “outreach department” that provides more official and organized approaches to reaching out but we also embrace the core value of outreach that inspires, informs, and equips each follower of Christ to express God’s love to others at a personal level wherever the life takes them.

Summit was actually founded in 1944 through an outreach to children and has continued throughout the years reaching out locally and globally. Outreach is so vital to us that it is a regular component in every teaching and message at Summit. The second Sunday of each month is dubbed, “Salt & Light Sunday”, where we take time to highlight a local outreach opportunity or organization here in our area. The third Sunday of each month is dubbed “Missions Sunday” where we take time to highlight a global outreach opportunity or organization that is making a difference far away.

The primary expressions of outreach are to “Pray, Give, and Go”. For Prayer, we provide prayer guides for World Missions that give focus to global needs/opportunities. There is a place to “Give” time, talent, treasure and there are plenty of ways to answer the call to “Go”.
